Apart from being a member, there are other ways you can help us.
Volunteering to help with ad-hoc requests
From time to time we will send out requests for help. This is a list of the type of things we may ask for help with:
- Attending events, ours or others in the community
- Helping at our events
- Delivering or handing out leaflets in the lead up to our public meetings
- Attending planning consultations to ask awkward questions or filling in online consultations (with the same awkward questions), we can usually help with the questions!
- Organising action groups around specific issues (we can help put like minded people in touch with each other)
- Supporting fundraising activities NEDRA and other local groups
- Supporting NEDRA coordinated volunteering activities for local needs
- Participating in promoting NEDRA content on social media
- Participating in promoting Neighbourhood Watch schemes and encouraging others to report safety concerns or issues to relevant authorities.
Volunteering as a Committee Member or Special Advisor
If you feel you have skills you could bring to NEDRA please get in touch. At the moment we have special advisors in:
- Infrastructure
- Biodiversity
- Communications
- Research & Freedom of Information Requests
As a specific ask, as well as whatever you can bring to the table, we are also looking for anyone with knowledge / expertise in:
- Planning / development regulations / planning objections
- Legal / community rights
- Environmental and sustainability development practices
- Surveyors / assessments
- Fundraising / grant writers
- IT / technical troubleshooters
